I love my country but this is a typical example of why I believe people like you (John Lovick) should be removed from government.
Instead of dealing with real issues, you choose to concern yourself with issues that remove personal freedoms and do nothing to enhance or enrich the well being of citizens of this country.
There is no safety issue. A safety issue is dogs and cats. Why don't you compare the statistics of people being maimed, bitten, and killed by so called domestic dogs compared to worldwide poisonous snake encounters.
Were you aware that as a result of citizen efforts and expertise, many reptiles that are endangered worldwide are now successfully being saved as a species through captive breeding programs.
Reptiles are indicator organisms. They tell us plenty about what's going on in the world by their inability to thrive in their own natural environments because people like you don't deal with real issues but instead waste taxpayer money on bogus issues like this one.
Why don't you do us all a favor and quit.
Oh, just in case you don't know what real issues facing the world are, here's a few: Human population control; Alternate energy source development; preservation of rain forests (produce 80% of the world's oxygen; cutail or stop immigration; out of control insurance costs; out of control health care costs.
