while owning our petstore in a state and on a state line of another state the city where our petstore was located decided to ban large contstrictors and while we could STILL sell them we had to get a permit to sell them and was asked to ask people where they lived and proof of residency ! Isn't this an INVASION of privacy ? The next request was probably the most absurb of the animal control upon asking us to take a drivers license of an address to prove that the person wasn't of our township. Of course my comment to the city animal control was what if they didn't have a drivers license or were planning to purchase just a BALL python or a Cal. Rosey boa. Then when I asked how would they enforce such a law when there were 20 or more petstores selling constrictors just across the state line and didn't have to contend with any such law and how would the city of our business know who the resident was that was buying and keeping constrictors....they didn't know ! So the law backfired and I was refunded permit monies and the law was revoked even before it hit the ground. LOL !
