::I have two stray(I actually just adopted out one)iguanas from Virginia Beach. This is a common story. When FIRST, Inc opened in VA, many of our iguanas were found in dunpsters while still in cages, in abandoned cars be tow truck drivers, etc.
:I have been told by several people that they are going to drive their iguana to Florida and release. I always give them the thanks that I think all Florida reptile owners would when they get reptiles banned in Florida and mention that Hawaii is erradicating all green iguanas besides a ban because of dumping.
:The Green Iguana Society is also hearing from people in Florida and other southern states complaining about wild stray iguanas. It is a problem that deserves attention.
I myself have two "rescued" handicapped leopeard geckoes.
