hello I found a half dead san Joaquin whip snake this year on the side of the road in antioch california and know that this is a protected species the area is being developed with track homes.which is going to destroy their hilly grassy habitat.is there anything I can do to protect this species in this area?Iam shure there are more.should I go out and take pics of some in their habitat for documentation.Or am I going to have to wach this species disapear like so many others.should I contact (D.F.G) or the east bay park service or what although most of them wouldnt even know it was a whip snake!! Iam just looking for some answers as to what I can do.Legaly!!lol.there are a few other threatened species in the area and some info as to what could be done to protect them would help..
