require that the animals are given the proper environment. I and most others probably could never afford to do so, but some can and would. Bans except for the "elite" zoos, animal shelters, universities, ect... are ridiculous. Why should a zoo be able to house such animals and someone else not? Because they have the proper environments in place. Individuals should be able to do so as long as they meet requirements..... the SAME requirements as any zoo or university.
