From below there was a discussion about the swap and the bust that went on last weekend. People were cited for lack of permits that weren't needed from my understanding and others for permits that they did need but didnt know they needed them. Well today I called DNR and tried to figure out what kind of permits I need to be legal and nobody knows!!! LOL They want to enforce laws but they dont know them! I was told I only needed permits for native and indigenous species! Thats it! no mention of any other permits and even a direct question of do I need any other permits? Then I was told oh it depends on the size of the snake and so I told them my largest and they said it is not a problem as long as they arent native species??? Im so confused so if anybody knows what permits I can get for reptiles and where to get them in Illinois it would be much appreciated. Thanks
