Lora,
average size for most adult mex. black kings will be around 36-40". They are a bit smaller than most other sub-species, but there are the exceptions. I hope that helps.

:Hi all. I'm now the proud owner of a jet black mexican king, after trying VERY hard to avoid buying any more snakes at the Richmond show. She seems fine, though she has a little nose rub that will hopefully clear after a couple of sheds. I had to have the blackest one and so she's slightly imperfect. I couldn't pass her up at 25.00 end of show pricing!
:A couple of questions. Reading up on nigritas, I'm finding conflicting info on max adult size. What's a good average size for a 2002 snakeling and how large should I expect her to be? Also, any tips you could share on husbandry would be greatly appreciated. I've kept a lot of colubrids so I'm comfortable with general care.
:Thanks!
:Lora
:PS Can I throw her in the same tank with one of my Mandarin ratsnakes? She's only a little bit bigger... Hee hee, just kidding!! ;)
