:Just leave him there. He's not going to hurt a thing. You may catch him out sunning or something, then you can just catch him and release him somewhere else. Or...he'll eventually just go away on his own. You are in all likelihood not going to be able to "coax" him out with a mouse or anything else and trying to force him out, you will probably just injure him. They won't make "nests" in your house. If it's a female with eggs, she won't lay them in your house, so don't worry about that.

:If you do catch it, I would release it because in the state of Georgia it is illegal to keep the native non-venomous snakes. You are better off all the way around to just leave it alone. What you described is an Eastern King Snake. It will help keep the population of rodents and other snakes down around your house...they are very beneficial and harmless animals.

:::I need someones help, I live in Macon GA and last night we had a big storm. I went out my front door to check the weather and found a black king snake with yellow bands sitting on my step. Not being a snake type guy my first thought was kill kill kill. But I realized it was a King Snake and that most folks keep them as pets. Not wanting to hurt it at this point it took off. this is the problem. it crawled into the frame of my house and theres no way for me to get it out. I was wondering if someone can tell me what kind of food can i put out that he like to eat so he may crawl out of the house where I can remove him safley. I have to hurry before my wife makes us move out of the house.. Help

::I also found his skin he shedded in my flower bed this morning. I think he may have made a nest in the house somewhere.

I saw one of these gentle giants once in my grand mothers yard once. She wanted too kill him but I would not let her. Its also illegal to kill a non venomous snake. I love all kinds of snakes including the venomous ones but I would never kill any of them or have a venomous snake as a pet. In fact when I am fishing and I come across a cottn mouth I just leave him alone
if you can catch it and take it far away from your home. But the best thing to do is to really just let her or him be. I love kingsnakes.
