I can't help you much on cost. It depends on so many differnt factors, such as what type of cali king? How big of a cage do you want? How much decoration do you want in the cage? And many more. As far as what it eats and how often I can help. Cali. kings are rodent eaters in captivity. The size of the rodent fed is dependent on the size of your snake. Babies eat pinky mice. Adults eat adult mice or some will even take a small rat. Feeding once a week to every 5 days seems to be the prefered feeding schedule. I feed mine once and week and they seem fine and healthy. I higly recomend feeding dead. Frozen rodents are cheaper and safer for your snake. imho
Good luck
Paul
