Depends...most snakes look for a spot that is secure and usually warm. Food may or may not do it. I have had snakes disappear for 4 months despite all attempts to locate them only to reappear under clothes, in a drawer, or climbing the threshold of a door. I would put out a hidebox, waterbowl, and heat mat. Some people may use gluetraps or masking tape. You can also make lines with baking soda to monitor if the snake has gone anywhere. Make sure you get a better lid, one that locks. If a snake gets out once, it can do it again (learned that one a few years ago the hard way). Andy
