That is not true either. It has nothing to do with diet IMO, at least the difference between carnivore and herbivore. It may have to do with different classifications of herbivores. Also, many snakes are not nocturnal. I find tons of snakes out in the open in the day. Garters, cottonmouths, copperheads, and hognose are among the few I find in the mid day sun...none of which require UV. Andy
