I wonder if thier behavior is anything like arrowanas? (large south american (at least my favorites are south american) fish...coolest captive fish in existance) House two and they'll beat each other to death, but put 6 in the same tank you were going to put 2, and they'll all be just fine.

: You just jogged my memory as well. I have a friend who had an indigo many years ago before they were protected & he told me that when he bought his (in St. Louis I think) that there were a whole bunch of them in an over crowded cage so many in fact thay they were litterally crawling all over each other. He aslo said the cage had a sign on it saying something like: Your pick $20 each! I don't know if they had any problems or not...
