I have also heard persistent rumors of the presence of this species in the Utopia area, which is only about 15 miles downstream on the Sabinal River from Lost Maples SP. Still, seemingly strange habitat for indigos. I once found a hatchling DOR near Concan, Uvalde County, only about 6 miles downstream from Garner SP on the Frio River, but the terrain is not as rugged there as at Lost Maples. Since they have been found north of Amistad and given their fondness for riparian situations, I should not be surprised (any longer) that they occasionally wander upstream into "unsuitable" habitat.
Chris: has your friend's survey of Lost Maples been published or is TP & W just sitting on it as they do with so many internal documents that might have a wider interest outside the department?
