Those red sided garters were pretty interesting snakes. Thanks for all of the geographical info. Try to stay warm up there. Hope you don't need milk anytime soon, lol.

: Actually, no, I don't live anywhere near red sideds. Here in Kweeebec alls we have are eastern garters, even if we have some that have truly red sides and bellies, unlike the "true" red sides, Thamnophis sirtalis parietalis, that range much farther west of here, starting in western Ontario and through the prairies.
: Their main stronghold in Canada is in Manitoba, where their spectacular congregations around denning sites near the town of Narcisse has made them a very popular tourist attraction around Mother's Day each year. That's what you saw on National Geographic.
:I live about 3 days' drive from there. To give you a bit of perspective, It takes me half a day's drive to to corner store to get some milk, so you do the math.
