:My subadult Indigo appeared to have some type of fluid coming from its mouth, not sure if it was some type of regurg from over eating or drinking to much. The stool appears to be quite loose as well, he is getting ready for a shed.
:He is kept on paper and all the temps are within the normal range. His tongue flick is good and so is his overall body weight and appearance.
:Any advice on this most wonderful creature would be most appreciated. Thankyou, Larry
Larry,
I would wait until tomorrow and then pop his mouth open and look inside it. Does it look gooey and really mucousy? This COULD be the onset of a Respiratory Infection.
But realize too...that often Indigos drink from their WATER DISH and then, afterward, often half and hour later, expell water from their mouths, or have it dribble out the front of their mouths, especially when the heads is tilted down. When you say "Some type of fluid" I wonder..does it LOOK like clear liguid? Or is it discolored? And when was the last time you fed him?
Loose stools?
Whoever sold you the Indigo didn't tell you a very important secret..they ALL HAVE LOOSE STOOLS!! If your thinking solid stools think boa...but Indigos? Man...they are messy! They crap out their loose stools on the glass, on the cage, on decorations in the cage(Why? Thats a waste of time) and in their waterbowl too. UGH
Sincerely,
Fred Albury
