:Natalie Hyslop is the lead Bilogist conducting studies on wild Eastern indigo snakes in S. Georgia. This is the study that I was lucky enough to help collect a couple snakes for several months ago. Natalie was home for the holidays during my visit, But I have been communicating with her frequently since my visit.

:Data she and her colleges are collecting through radio telemtry studies is critical to understanding wild indigos, which is of course the first step in conservation.

:Natalie is going to "appear" on the forum here very soon, so I'll keep my description of her studies very brief, but I thought you would be interested to hear that the transmitters she has immplanted in some snakes (and hopefully more snakes soon) are actually temperature sensitive...so we'll find out under what temps they winter, bask, etc. that's just one tidbit I thought I'd point out.

:Suffice to say she is operating on a "shoestring budget" and needs assistance.

:Natalie has agreed to provide updates on her progress via the forum and keep in touch with us so where we know "where the $$ is going"...I'd like to officially nominate her as our first official candidate and see what you think.

:Natalie will be posting an overview of her work very soon. I beleive she'll be open to your questions and comments...and I'm sure you'll have them!

:Dean
