Many babies were bred and released, as well as adult animals relocated from Florida and other parts of the range into areas thought to be extirpated (like parts of AL, and MS) As far as I know...this project was concluded in the late eighties. I have the papers from the project.
Animals were pit tagged...no transmitters as far as I can see. it looks like little to no follow up was done,and a 100% mortality rate was assumed on the released babies. Predation by bobcats was assumed to be the highest cause of mortality.
