You wouldn't think they would want to eat due to the lower temps at night. Someone on IML had the same problem, lizards wanting to eat at night. Maybe fill the dishes right before going to bed with fresh food. It should stay fresh enough with the lowered temps until 0300. If the food is already there maybe they won't thump and wake you up.
Of course the other thing is to train the lizard, not let them train you (I know, I know, easier said than done). With toddlers that occasionally wake in the night you let them fuss a couple of times and they eventually learn that you are not getting up and pampering them and they start sleeping through the night again. At least that is what I have been told. My husband won't let my 20 month old fuss and why should he, he just puts in bed with me and goes and sleeps on the couch. Last night she joined me at 0400 (LOL)! But the theory might work for lizards too. You may have a few sleepless nights (or do what my husband does and sleep on the couch in the other room where they won't disturb you) until they get the message.
Just some thoughts. Good luck. I completely sympathize I have been sleep deprived thanks to my human baby for almost two years. And with the new one arriving soon doesn't look like I'll get much sleep for the next two years (LOL)!
