Baby igs - color differences?

Posted by April on June 11, 1999 at 13:43:53:

hello there! I just became the mommy of three baby iggys! Two
I got from PetCo and one from the local petstore (SoCal) Prehistoric
Pets. The two from Petco I think were WC but look very similar so
maybe from the same clutch? They are light green with blue/white
tummy stripes, light green/white tail with dark brown stripes, two white/
blue half-circles behind the sholders and large white dewlaps. the
one from the local store was CB and is very diff. He is dark DARK
green with deep blue stripes on his back and no tummy stripes at all,
his tummy is the same dark green. His tail is green with almost
no brown stripes and there is one blue half-cirle behind the sholders.
the dewlap is a lighter green and much smaller. Their heads are
a little diff, with the darker one having a smaller head. I know
these colors will change when they grow up and become adults, but
I was curious if they might stay this distinct from each other? I
know this is purely opinion, but maybe someone can shed some light
from experience they had with their own igs? Are these igs diff.
sub-species, from diff. areas or is this normal for baby igs to
look so different? (It is really striking how diff. they look
when next to each other.) Anyways, sorry this is so long, I am
just curious! =) -April
