i`m so sorry to hear about that. i know you are upset, but try not to blame yourself. there was nothing that you did wrong. i know its hard to lose one like that, but at least he isn`t in pain anymore. the huge void that you feel now is hard to swallow, but just remember that that huge sinking inside wouldn`t be there if you didn`t care so much. and whether that was enough to save him wasn`t for you to decide. we can only do so much with what we are given. you were given a very sick little iguana that just didn`t have the strength to survive anymore. there is only so much that is within our control, his survival was only partly under your control. the rest was up to him. everything that happens to us does so for a reason. you were meant to learn something important from this. his death will not be a tragic thing, rather a turning point depending on what you extract form this situation. we are given tests like this all through our lives, it matters not the outcome, only that we learn a lesson and apply it to our lives. try not to dwell on what went wrong, rather think about what you did right: you gave him a caring home, attention, love, warmth, food and a family that accepted him no matter what. that is really all anyone can give. you didn`t hold anything back, and for this you are a special caring person. i`m sorry that he died. rehabbing can be a very rewarding experience as well as a very discouraging experience. it can be hard at times to keep going, but when all goes down the drain, you need to pick yourself up and do your best to get through it, you will i know, and i know it won`t be easy. my condolences to you.

: Well everyone - after doing so well for several days, the baby iguana went into a major downward spiral yesterday and died during the night. My little boy is devastated of course, and I guess I was also more attached than I'd thought because I'm pretty upset too. I did everything right down the line, the temp and humidity were monitored constantly, the baby food/water/vitamins were palatable to him, he just was too sick and neglected to come all the way back. I am SO upset. I have a half finished 4 foot outdoor enclosure(for a 5 inch lizard!) sitting in my garage that I'd started when he began to improve, and I can't even deal wih it right now.
