Last night on the chat line I promised I's post what my vet told me about seting up a place for females to lay thier eggs. So here goes...

His whole premise is to duplicate as much as possible the iguana's natural environment. They like to lay thier eggs like in little coves along river banks, so he says. So, what he says to do is, get a plastic wastebasket, like a kitchen size one. Turn it on its side, and fill it half full of potting soil. Cover the top, and in the cover make a hole about the size of a coffee can. Into that hole mount a length of PVC pipe of about the same diameter as the hole. Wrap it all in heat tape. The mother will think it's just like the cove on the river bank. Oh, asnd moisten the potting soil, of course.
