One of mine had skin like erruptions all over his tail when he was given to me. Even though his home environment improved with me, this condion seemed to worsen, causing scale damage. It was so long ago, I do not know if it was a virus, bacterial infection, fungus or what, but we ended up giving our baby injections in the back for 3 weeks (anibibiotics) and although he was left with scars & scale damage, it never worsened or spread after that.
