Check, blinds over window closed so he doesn't cook, no problem. Tomorrow I'll rearrange the furniture in there and get him away from the window, which is a good idea anyway because it's going to freeze yet again this year, and it will get too cold by the window for it then.

Don't worry, the heat source is NOT a hot rock, it's an undertank heater that "sticks" to the bottom, and is made for heating under reptile tanks. Found it at a garage sale, and thought I might need it someday to keep baby birds warm or something. I don't even own a hot rock. In a pinch I'd only use one if I had a cake pan or something flipped over on top of it, to prevent burns. I've heard too much bad stuff about those things.

Does "Greenjeans" sound like a decent unisex name? My son suggested it after Mr Greenjeans from Captain Kangaroo. LOL

Yea, when the vet gets back next week I'll take it in providing it's still alive, and get it checked over. If I'm accepting responsibility for it I have to take care of it, after all. But until next week, there is no vet within a two hour one way drive, no joking, and my car is running funny these days. I think the dealer owes me a new tranny, but until they get in and it jerks them around too, they won't believe me. You know how "men" and cars and "women" are, right folks? LOL

: Not sure what will happen if he lives, but he'll have to be placed somewhere I have visiting rights, or at some way to know he's being well cared for.

: There is no available vet here for another week(he's gone fishing) so right now bloodwork isn't viable, but I'm going to want a salmonella check as soon as we can, and in the meantime I'm disinfecting everything in sight and using tons of antibacterial soap on myself, in addition to the hand sanitizer. Can't afford to take chances, especially with a young child in the house.

: If everyone wants, I can keep you up to date on his progress, or lack of it, as we go. If he does get well then I'll maybe be posting him for adoption on here. One last dumb question for today: is there a reliable way to sex iggy's that are under 6 inches? I'd like to know who I'm dealing with.

: p.s. too bad these things are so cute. If they weren't, they probably wouldn't take such a beating, huh?
