We were getting rather lost down there so I thought I would start a new thread.
I sent my letter to the address Des gave in her post yesterday. The letter was
one page and covered many things in brief, including how long I have had an iguana,
and the fact that I had researched for six months before I got my iguana but several
years down the road found out that most of what I had learned from books was wrong.
I also covered NIAD briefly by stating we were started because of all the bad information
distributed about iguana care (especially their cartoon) and that we are working to see that
information changed. Instead of going into the specifics of iguana care (could have been
three pages) I included one of the niad tri-fold pamphlets with the letter. In closing I
told the person (editor of the cartoon) that myself and several of my friends had e-mailed the
author, but we all got the same cookie-cutter response ... "don't complain to me - complain to the
author of my source." I told the editor that we would like to see a correction posted in his comic
saying that the source he obtained the information from was a bad one, and that iguanas are not good
pets for children.

It would be very effective if we all wrote one of these letters (in our own words) and sent it to the
company. As I said, I sent my letter to the editor of Shagg.
