I would suggest sending a formal letter to the CEO of the newspaper company. The author might try to keep this to himself if it's looking bad. A letter directly to the top would bring the top down on the editor of the comic. If someone could post the address Sue and I will write a letter and send it.

I feel the main damage with this comic article is that for everything active iguana people are doing to educate....has now taken a step backwards with this article.
Not to break it down into details that would get lost with a President of a Newspaper company is probably the way to address this. (Continueing opinion): Telling of the hundreds of thousands of iguanas dying each year from poor education would get far more attention then attacking the article alone. Maybe pointing this out then bringing it together with what Mr. Engun or whatever his name is, wrote would get some serious attention to the matter. It might even get a story in a different section of the newspaper to help us all out. Like a educational article?

SOMETHING ELSE THAT COULD BE DONE for more then just the newspaper company:

People with websites might want to think about making a section on rating businesses. This rating system could go either way positive or negitive. (Example only: If a Pet store is found to be clean and the reptiles are well taken care of...you would list them on the site with a "good Rating" same goes for a bad rating....if some business is found NOT to be educated on reptiles or not showing good husbandry skills....the rating system could show a bad rating. Letting these businesses know that they are being rated on the World Wide Web might change their act some. Any bad ratings would have to be re-inspected again after 90 days to give them a chance to clean up their act. Pressure put on them by posting on the www would cause alot of business owners to reconsider how they are running their business.
