I'm posting the response he gave me, which had
an extra line in it. I had mentioned in my letter
that information like he posted is attractive to
children, and that they will go ask mom and dad for
this "cool, easy to take care of pet that eats
lettuce!". I then said that many iguanas in the
care of such children die from eating the wrong
food, neglect, etc and that iguanas are not good
pets for kids (even for older kids--I know a lot of
older kids who are dumping their igs as they leave
for college sine the parents won't take care of the
ig).

Anyway, here's his reponse, just the same except for
one line:

Dear Natalie,

Thank you for your feedback, but I will have to ask you to send your
complaints to David Alderton author of The International Encyclopedia of
Pet Care, "A practical guide to choosing and caring for your pets." You
see, I do quite a bit of research. In fact that's all I do. All your
disputed information comes from David Alderton, "internationally recognized
as an expert on pets and their care...David writes and broadcasts regularly
for the specialist and general press on pet-keeping matters, and is also a
consultant to the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council."

I think you should give young people a little more credit.

As you should know there are two sides to every story. I now have your
side.
