Don't give up Hope! I can sympathize with how you must be feeling. A little over a year ago we had an ig stolen along with my son's bike. I thought I would never love again the pain was intense. You may yet find him/her. It may not be easy, but don't give up hope. And don't give up on yourself. You obviously care a great deal.
