Regarding your arms, we know how bad the scratches can be. If I had a dime for everytime somebody asked me if I had a cat (LOL).
I have pretty delicate skin and quickly realized that my arms were going to look like raw meat if I didn't do something to protect them when handling Mel.
Now don't get me wrong, Mel is one of the easiest going igs around. But even with properly clipped claws the tamest ig can still do unintentional damage.
My suggestion is to get a pair of gloves. Don't laugh but I use Satin full length opera gloves. They are light weight, yet thick enough to protect. They cover my hands and arms up past the elbows. Don't get cheap thin opera gloves they won't do the job. You could probably find a pair at a costume store (that is where I got mine).
Also Godzilla my not like them at first. But as with all things eventually they get used to them. Mel knows when I put the gloves on she is going to be picked up and loved.
Just a thought
