not silly...check out health food stores Linda...sometimes you can get collard & mustard & dandelion greens there or keep your eye out at farmers produce type open air markets...or yes even the frozen food section has collards...frozen...even have more calcium than the raw type! Collards are goitrogens/cruciferous plants (weeds) actually that are used primarily by people all over south & west US as primary ingredient of "greens" "soul food" mmmmm add some ham hock or smoked turkey wings or some pork back...making myself hungry...slaves used collards for food way back when...anyway....they do have a very good CA:P ratio....even if they contain oxalates and goitrogens even tho the amount is not as bad others such as turnip greens or mustard greens. These type of greens even tho they have these "not so good" junk in em...should be about 60% of your igs "salad" every thing else is the variety.I feed my igs about 75% greens and the rest goodies like cactus and alfalfa hay and fruit ...anyway...whatever works for you. You can always write to a seed company for seeds...I have grown collards they are easy to grow....they're weeds remember big ole 3-4 food high weeds tho...lol You can plant now & they'll be ready by September!!!!
lol
Good luck Linda
Gina
