OMG...I just e-mailed Henry Lizardlover....I did it...His little broken tail and the damaged scales are gone. Still drinking my wine...not in celebration but to calm my nerves....youre not gonna believe what I did it with either.....the nail clippers (for dogs you know the one with the curved razor blade)Henry suggested a very sharp clean scissor , I thought of the poultry scissors or this scalpel I have but the thought of directly cutting it made me *kind of* queasy. The dog clippers I have are relatively new...since I don't clip their nails anymore...and the dogs get it done at the groomers...so...I sterilized em in boiling water for 15 minutes then in rubbing alcohol for 15 minutes...lol but betadine around the end of Feo's tail selecting a point 1 inch *above* the damaged tip into the healthy tissue ...had cornstarch and Kwikstop within reach in case one or the other didn't work in a plastic (medication) cup...and without another thought it was over...very little bleeding...put his cut tail in the cornstarch cup first nothing..stopped bleeding...only a few drops came out. Healthy pink tissue too...I was so surprised. Feo looked at me like..."yeah so what...you want a medal or sumthing" I had to take a few deep breaths ran in the house & got me a glass of wine...and how was your day? :o)
