This is what comes to my mind from the information I have read from you. Go get blood work and a stool sample done at a Herp Vet. That would be the number one thing I would suggest right off the bat. I have this feeling your iguana has some problems going on internally; which in turns doesn't help their attitude. Shemp, as in humans, when a iguana doesn't feel good inside, their attitude will show this most of the time. Sometimes, it's just something simple, like maybe a headache or a sore joint, at those times iguana's usually will give you a sign telling you to please back off and leave me alone.....I don't feel good!!! But when the iguana gets alittle more aggressive, there's usually something more going on then just minor stuff.
Shemp, given the fact that you are feeding your iguana Cat food and chicken, there could be something being over looked that "we" don't know about...and that you haven't posted about. You mentioned the cage was 3' tall by 4' wide....but how deep is it? You also said that you have a Full spectrum light that is producing 85 to 90 degrees......what about UVB? Iguana's need a UVB light....which doesn't produce enough heat to do anything.....it's for digesting their food. To my knowledge there is not a product on the market that will heat/UVB all in one. You may want to look at getting rid of the light you have and switching to a ceramic heater and then also installing a UVB 5.0 light. ( please don't feel like I am jumping on you,I am NOT, Im just giving you my opinion of what I feel you should do)
Ok one other thing for this posting.....get some welding gloves and start handling him....regardless if he doesn't like it or not. You should be handling him at least 10 minutes each day at the start. That's whether he tries to: bite, whip, choc. roll, or scratch. Make sure you keep this in mind...YOU are in charge, NOT your iguana! Give him an inch......he'll take a mile!!! Iguana's can and will train their owners if given the chance....sometimes without the owner knowing it! LOL I will post more information later......but please go to a good Herp Vet and have the test ran....then come back and post....we'll go from there. I have this feeling you have on your hands, a iguana that really doesn't feel good right now.
