Regarding you pregger pig we used to breed them and you definitely had to separate the male and female when she gave birth otherwise the male would kill the piglets. We would keep our female and babies separate a couple of weeks. I would imagine it would be best if you separated any other animal from the delivering mom and new babies. It is better to be safe than sorry.

I also remember how cute the babies were. Like fuzzy little sausages.
