Yeah...good work Mike (ig diet)...I think at least yearly blood work & physical should be done. Its recommended every 6 months by vets that Ive gone to.I think getting a preliminary physical & lab to establish a baseline on any newly acquired reptile is a good idea (moreso if acquired by a pet store)I pay about $60.00 for EVERYTHING (office visit, physical, bloodwork)with my regular herp vet....but this last time with Feo's pre-op physical & lab cost me 135.oo
for the office visit and lab...welcome to California! So shop around for a reasonably priced herp vet. Usually bloodwork obtained by cutting a toenail...not as if they use the tail vein much anymore for routine labs. Also save money by providing a fecal sample just take it in...if you want to find out if your ig has worms or other parasites. Take the green/brown part only remove it from the urates ..put it in a ziplock baggie or margarine tub..refrigerate (best if poopie is less than 24 hrs old) then off to the vet poop goes. Fecal floats cost about 5.oo
Anyway re: calcium supplements and your ig...I would just because he's young and they need more calories and just don't get enuff nutrients from diet..he sounds like he is being very well cared for lucky Ig
