We use a combination of things around here ....

In our larget ig's enclosure which is roughly 6x6x3 we use a radient heat panel with a thermostat so it constantly keeps the enclosure at 85*. IMHO the radient heat panals are much safer than CHEs as they have a emergency shut off feature should anything ever go wrong. They also do not have a high surface temp which means that unless someone or something touches it for an extended period of time, they will not get burned.

For the smaller enclosures we use a very dark nighttime bulb at the farthest end of the enclosures. They give off such minimal light and when the igs do get bothered by it they sleep under their climbing branches.

As for humidty we mist enclosures several times daily and run a cool mist humidifier in the dinigng room.
