Swofford is Jen's last name.
JS website is www.baskingspot.com/iguanas/

Good luck...Linda what problems are you having re: your Igs diet?
Have your been to Melissa Kaplans site?
www.anapsid.org

reason is....she has a more comprehensive site and Ive found that JS uses alot of what Melissa is doing. Then Iguana Den diet is usually used for igs that snub their noses at MKs diet

Please check down below re: food? I'll post the website for USDA nutrient database...there for Juby...lots of information for ya there too on food selection ok.
Do you have Hatfield's Green Iguana Ultimate Manual. can order it at
www.amazon.com will be at your home like in 3 days.
The diet thing...is aggravating...trying to figure out what they can eat and what not. Lots of simple basics...then the sky's the limit.
Might want to invest in a cheapie nutrition book...like at a used book store....that lists nutrient values of most foods. Avoid anything ANIMAL...protein, dairy, fat etc.
Iguanas are foliovores, herbivores, love foods that are aromatic and colorful. If hungry they will eat food that looks like s*** lol...cuz Ive been feeding mine reconstitued prunes with thier salad lately and it looks terrible ****blech****
but they eat it!...lol roses are comin up like crazy I steal some of the flowers that are old and in full bloom outside my complex, stick em in my sweatshirt when no ones looking lol and sneak in some blossoms for em...they love it! smell good and pretty to eat. dandelion flowers same thing. Have NOT been able to find nutrient contents of edible plants YET...I have lotsa projects on the back burner...but Im sure I find a site to pass along some time.
Till then...Remember staple (everyday)bulk of foods to give iguanas are like .....dandelion greens, collard greens, and/or mustard greens...adding other variety including other veggies, fruits etc. comparable to "croutons" on a salad.Do you not have those available? can you grow your own? Check with local farmers markets or major grocers, health food stores. Where do you live anyway? Chin up...we'll help ya out. K?
Gina
