In Reply to: Oh the Temptation, Are Rhino igs as interesting as they appear? Comments from rhino owners please. posted by Martin on May 14, 1999 at 12:03:34:
: One of my buddies just bought a Rhino iggy (Cyclura). What an interesting creature. I would love to hear from those who know about this kind of iggy or those who own. What experiences have you had? I am considering possibly buying one this summer. But first I have to research and speak to variuos owners.
: Thanks.

Well, lets see...... Rhino Igs are great!
I love mine... She is a big Puppydog....
However, There are a few things to consider.
Rhinos get big! They are a long term comitment too
, they can live longer than 35 years. They are not
as funny to handle with they grow up, because their
skin is really sharp. My girl is super tame, but
still strugles when I pick her up after she has been
outside sunning. Her skin cuts me up pretty good.
She is still young, only about 5 1/2. I'm sure it
will get worse as she matures and becomes larger.
So if you get a Baby Rhino, tame em down while
it is young.... You do not want to deal with a
angry wild adult Rhino.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions.
Take care,
Joe III
