why not cut it off? lol not for the squeamish huh?
I am seriously thinking about amputating Feo's tail myself....lol
..........ha aha aha...throwing head back wringing hands like Dr. Frankenstein!

Im gonna ask Henry Lizardlover about it! lol I believe he does his own igs tails (dry rot or whatever!)
anyway go to your appt. I'd never want to wait for it to get infected...dry rot, gangrene, tail rot usually "travels" can then become systemic and the ig can eventually die...it takes a long long time for that infection to spread but it will. So even tho its not an emergency situation (as in my case too) it still does need to be taken care of preferably by the vet ..lol (even if the vet is the one who caused it! lol as in my case!) I wouldn't trust myself to snip it with a scissors like Ive heard other people do...I'd start crying...Im such a chicken! There is a technique to doing it that gets all of the potentially infected area so that new uninfected growth will occur
Whatever you do Wendy take care of it soon, the sooner the better for it to begin to grow back. I saw this magnificent Honduran Iguana (head the size of a volleyball well almost!) this past weekend...The owner told me he had lost (via amputation) almost a foot of his tail....wouldn't know it to see him...tail grew back altho shorter and I think more beautifully cuz the tail is thicker at the tip..not scrawny looking like my two igs anyway...food for thought! ;o)
