When Harry was first let loose in the house when we got him and he was acting how you are describing Godzilla, he would actually become MORE stressed. It (being loose) seemed to overwhelm him. When we would we go to pick him up to put back in his cage, he would become all stressed out again (trying to escape his cage). We can only speak from our personal experience with Harry, but I would not let Godzilla loose until he has calmed down. Besides, if you're intiminated by him in his cage, how are you going to handle him when he's loose and starts to posture (bitting/whipping stance) and its time to put him back in his cage? Harry acted insane for a little over a week when we first got him (threw himself against the sides of his cage/nose rubbed/posturing). Then we got him his new cage and he was stressed for a few more days. Now, for the most part, he's a good little ig. Much calmer, but he will probably never be as laid back as Miss Lola. I know its hard, but we can't stress this enough, please give him plenty of time to adjust to the move and your family. Don't push him. Before you know it, he'll be fine.

Jeff and Sue
