Of course sneakers is to little to have any thoughts of love and we think she is a girl, but this reminded me of my box turtle, Bailey. It was before I knew whether Bailey was a girl or a boy. I had read that male turtles did what is know as penis fanning and that the penis looked like a purple or blue flower. OK. Well Bailey was walking across the kitchen floor one day. I looked at him and I thought "Does he have a piece of salami stuck to the underneath of his shell." I picked him up and my mouth dropped opened. Flower my great aunt billies blue wig. I yelled for Walt. I was sure that poor little Baileys innerds were coming out. By the time Walt had come in the kitchen, Bailey had retracked those innerds and I tried to describe to Walt what I had seen. I had to fight the urge to immediately rush him to a vet.

Now this is very commonplace and Bailey shows us all the time he is a proud little male. Did I say, little?

I can just see years from now when sneakers turns out to be a male, sitting by the tub and something like this happens. I will remember this story of yours and try to remain calm as I'm yelling for Walt.
