Dexter's been acting really weird lately. I might be sitting in my room or something, and I'll notice him walking around his cage a lot. He'll usually climb up onto his hammock, stick out his dewlap at the window, climb back down, climb to the top of the cage, climb to the top of the cage, walk over his water dish, walk to the other end of the cage, I'm sure you get the idear by now. A few days ago my friend Dave was sitting in my room playing my guitar and singing a song he wrote about Dexter. While Dexter the Cuban Spy was being performed, Dexter was racing about his cage trying to climb out. Usually he doesn't care too much about live music. He loves it when I sing and play the guitar, and likes a lot of my CD's. (Yes, I know music can be stressful to reptiles. But Dexter's favourite bands have a "calming" effect on him while his not-so-favourite bands turn him into Mr. Crazy lizard. Those CD's I don't play in my room.)
I think it's mainly because of all the changes in his life. New cage, another lizard in the house, the cat's growing curiosity with the lizard cages, mommy's new haircut, so on and so forth. Is there anything I can do to calm Dexter down? It's starting to stress ME out to see him being unhappy!
