One more comment on this direct sun issue;
Most people do not realize that they do not have to live
in a very warm place to still get direct sunshine for at least 6 months out of the year.
It does not have to be 80 degrees outside to reap the benefits of sun, which no artificial UV
tube can ever come close to.
Try putting the iguana next to a screen with the window opened so the sunshine can some through the screen or other
type of cage. As long as the Ub is not filtered through glass, it cannot penetrate glass. Be careful as some people have lost their iguana when it broke through the screen.
Keep a heat pad source under the ig and a heat lamp over the iguana to keep it warmer.
All it take is a couple hours a week.....
This can even be done in Boston, i have lived there and went through my igs first egglaying there actually....
