Color changes in Iguanas are quite common, and yes they are mood and temperature related. Often times cold, sick, or highly stressed individuals will turn a darker color.Color changes can also be brought about by sexual stimulation. Males especially will often turn bright orange when mating season arrives. You should take note of the conditions present when your lizard changes color, this may give you a clue as to why it is doing so. Is it too cold? Is it being stressed by another Iguana or other animal? Observing your animal in this way is a great tool for learning more about iguanas.
