Help Me!

I have a three year old male iguana who seems to be going through his first breeding season. He is incredibly territorial and almost spends more time puffed up than he does relaxed. He also starts clawing madly when anybody walks by his cage. Should I chalk his hyper-aggressive behavior up to "breeding mode"? Is there anything I can do? How long will this last? Thanks...
