Hi Jeanine:
You will love your girl! Sorry she isn't acting top notch yet. IZ's mom has lots of good advice, including checking with another good herp vet. You can find a list of them at the website for the Assoc. of Reptilian and Amphibian Veterinarians. http://www.arav.org Click on members.
Also, the Herp Vet Connection has a good listing of herp vets that people on this forum have submitted. I don't have the address--would someone please give it to Jeanine.
Could your ig being getting ready to lay eggs (gravid)? They do this yearly with or without a male around. My iguana just went through it and she quit eating for weeks. I finally had her spayed. I have no idea how long female igs become gravid.
I have found that papaya and mango loosen Meggy' stools significantly. They should be given very sparingly as a treat once or twice a week. I never give Meg bananas because of the phosphorus. Will Iggy eat Collard greens which are some of the best greens you can give her? They form the basis of Meggy's diet with other greens and vegetables added in. She loves them, thankfully. Best of luck with Iggy. Keep us posted on how she is doing.
Judy
