In Reply to: Attack Iguana! Will he hurt himself? posted by Linda B. on April 30, 1999 at 19:27:28:
We had the same problem when we first got Darwin. He was attacking the glass so much, and sooo hard, that he damaged his nose! In time, his nose healed, but it actually bled, and was very tender for several months. What we did to get him to stop, was put up some cardboard to stop him from seeing his reflection. Darwin......as well as the rest of our Igs, are no longer in enclosures that have any glass in them.....mainly to prevent something like this. So I would recommend getting(or building) an enclosure that had wood sides and bottom, and a screen door and screen top. This has prevented our Igs from hurting themselves.....
Good luck with Max!!! Fiesty little beasts, eh?
