After I posted the above message, I got to thinking. You came to us about a problem and I defended our forum. I apologize for this. I do have a suggestion about the poor little ig. Even though I do not have any experience with MBD, I have a lot of experience with animals in general and therefore death. The one rule I have always gone by (just my opinion) is whether I think the animal in guestion wants to live. If I think they have given up, then I give them there wish and go for euthanasia to end their suffering. But if they haven't given up on themselves then I try to help them instead. Sometimes this has come back to bite me and I end up still having them euthanised and apologizing to them.
Now it sounds to me like this little guy is a fighter. Maybe talk with the person that Des recommended and see what they have to say. But maybe with the proper diet, lighting, and care, he could come back to where he could have a life he would enjoy. I know that he is probably to far gone to ever become normal again, but he still may have a chance at ig happiness. He found you didn't he?
Now I want you to think about something....Even though you knew there wasn't much anyone could do for your little ig, you still came to us to post with us your sadness and story about the little guy. You know if you have to have him euthanised, you can come and tell us and we will cry with you. If you decide to try and save him, we will cheer you and him on when he takes his first step back to health. We will stand behind you in whatever you decide.
Hugs to you, Joan
