Feeding bowl problem resolved!

Hi All,
Last night, while perusing the shelves of the garden section of Walmart, I was hit with a good idea. (At least I think it is!)

We've had problems finding good iguana feeding bowls in the past. All regular pet bowls seem to be too deep, and the igs look uncomfortable arching their necks down to get the food. Nothing has seemed shallow enough, or sturdy enough.

Well, I saw those little "plates" which planted pots rest in to catch the extra water, and I thought that they looked like the perfect iguana bowl! They're inexpensive, the perfect proportion for iguanas to eat from, and come in various sizes and colors.

Maybe some of you already use these as your ig bowls--I don't know. But, for those of you who, like me, have been having trouble finding a good, shallow, sturdy, non-tippable bowl for your iguana, here's an idea! They come in ceramic, terra cotta, and plastic.

Just passing along a possibly good iguana tip!

I have to go now before it gets too hot out, to put the final coat of paint on Beebs' and Bobbs' 4'long x 2'wide x 1'foot deep "hide box" we're building to go in their new outdoor cage we're finishing this weekend. The new cage is 8' long, x 6' tall, x 4' deep, and is made of varnished redwood, and dark green plastic hardware cloth. It's really pretty! I have for it, bamboo climbing posts, basking spots, a twine covered ramp to climb up onto the shelves with, a hide box with three holes cut into it, a huge fake rock to sit on, greenery, and I'm going to make Habib a little tee-pee of her own because she seems to like to hide from Bobbit when he feels rather shall I say, "frisky"? When we finish, I'll try posting a picture of it on here.
Have a great day!
Diana
