*mostly* to warm it up ... i realized that he was ignoring his supper for a good 1/2 hour til it warmed up on it's own (sitting in his basking spot)... *especially* in the winter months, he doesn't like it cold from the fridge (makes sense!)
the softening of some of the vegies is an added benefit *grin*
