although treats are fun to give your iguana, the most important thing first is a well balanced diet. If your iguana isn't getting that....I'd say NO treats! We give Lola and Harry strawberries....one half of 1 each...no more as a dessert for them each day but this is only if they have eaten 2 servings of benefical foods. If they don't eat their regular meals, they don't get treats!!! I enjoy watching them eat their treats but I know if they don't get the "good stuff" first, it can lead to health problems later on. One thing also....sometimes YOU can't see what is going wrong with your iguana when it's on the inside. Have you had a Vet do a blood work on your iguana? This tells alot about what's going on inside. Harry was adopted by us and he's old owners fed him Cheese!! A BIG no no !! He had high levels of protein in his system, which could of killed him. Harry's fine now since we got him on a normal diet of food but I can tell you the first three weeks....NO treats for him. We had to make sure he was heading in the right direction first before letting him have any good junk treats.
Hope this helps
