All electrical shop lights have a rating stamped on it somewhere. Some plastic sockets are only rated at 100 watts or less, others like one of ours is rated to 250 watts. With a 75 watts ceramic heater it will work but I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. Stay with the ceramic sockets on the shop lights. If you have someone that you know, who is good with electrical stuff, you can have them install a switch somewhere on the cord, making it easy to turn off/on. Switches go out on plastic sockets because of the extreme heat that is generated from the ceramic heater, mixed with the wattage being pulled from the ceramic heater itself makes it VERY easy to start on fire. Wattage should always be looked at, no matter what you are using. Try to always stay at 75-80% the load rating or less. So if a ceramic shop light is rated at 100 watts, don't use anything over 80 watts with it. A 100 watt bulb probably won't generate as much heat as a 100 watt ceramic heat would, which using a 100 watt heater might overload that socket.

Hope this helps some
